Doesn't this gala look fantastic; we were thrilled to provide audio rentals in Winston Salem, NC for this recent affair at the legendary Reynolda House Museum and Gardens.

One of the finest historic sites in this part of North Carolina in which our corporate headquarters resides and where we were founded, the Reynolda House, is a tribute to the great builders and landscapers of the Guilded Age. Preserved largely through the efforts of events like these held yearly by the Reynolda House Foundation, one of the great eras in American structural history is stewarded and protected.

Once the home of Richard Joshua Reynolds (founder of RJ Reynolds, the local tobacco concern) and his wife, the Reynolda House was inherited by a daughter who first held the home as a vacation home and later took up residence full time. Loving the house as her decendents did, they undertook - under the guidance of granddaughter Barbara Babcock Millhouse - to create a foundation for the lasting preservation of the home and site, and the Reynolda House Foundation was born.

The site, largely still intact as originally constructed and completed in 1917 became a public museum in 1967. A viewing museum which now houses extraordinary works by American artists was additionally built on the grounds. The permanent collection houses some of the nation's finest works of art by preeminent hands. Revolving visiting collections are also part of the work of the museum. Regular visits to the collection will make you well versed in the great works of our national artists; once a year is not enough.

The gala you see here supports the efforts of the House to both sustain the house and landscape formal and informal gardens and to continue to broaden the museum collection and add revolving exhibits. AV Connections, Inc. was pleased to provide audio rentals for this years gala.

One of our best local meeting venues was back in action with our AV rentals in Greensboro at the Greensboro Marriott. Our presentation technology team was glad to provide rentals and technicians for the recent Guilford Child Development Luncheon in Greensboro, NC near our corporate hometown, Winston-Salem, NC.

With regard to the mission of the charity holding this luncheon, it is also important to note how critical their role in supporting the children of Guildford County, North Carolina is on a daily basis. Guilford Child Development is a multi-faceted organization dedicated to creating an community where children are valued, nurtured, and fed. Perhaps it is easy for many of us, blessed as we are, to take for granted healthy hot meals and people with whom to read a book, but the need for caring for economically challenged children is real and with a moment of all our homes. Resources, medicine, food, literacy, and head start for success are all the tenets pursued by GDC. We remain grateful and moved by their work which is both vast and robust on behalf of the young lives in the care of this community.

On August 20, AV Connections, Inc. provided banquet dinner AV rentals for the The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club Dinner. This gala banquet was held in the Grand Pavilion of the Embassy Suites in downtown Winston Salem, NC.

The gala's key note speaker was Tony Thompson, President and CEO of local Fortune 1000 corporation, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. Bring 25 years of management experience to bear, Mr. Thompson took to our microphones to support the Salvation Army's local and national missions and goals. An ardent supporter of the Boys and Girls Clubs, Mr Thompson's remarks were well received by banquet guests. Krispy Kreme Corporation continues to me a major supporter of local charities, the Salvation Army among them.

Tony Thompson joined Krispy Kreme Corporation after distinguishing himself in the management teams of Papa Johns, Scotts, Con Agra, and Coca-Cola Bottling Company. Winston-Salem was pleased to welcome him to Krispy Kreme, a heritage local corporate business of resounding success.

For this event, AV Connections, Inc. worked in partnership with Mr. Bill’s Productions to provide two large fast fold projection screens, two projectors, and a switcher to switch between a camera taping of the event and a laptop feed for a feature video presented to the guests.

AV Connections, Inc., located in North Carolina, has the pleasure of providing theater AV rentals in NC and VA to all manner of performance events. Recently, we were called upon - as we are pleased to be each and every August - to support the National Black Theater Festival held over a week long period in Winston-Salem, NC. We always enjoy this adventure in multiple theater and venue locations and performances thoroughly. Since we began working with NBTF we have had the pleasure to work with NBTF's  tremendous professional team and with all of the Festival performance teams  and support staff; both performers and administrators alike.

It should be noted, this remarkable cultural art experience commits itself to outdoing each previous year of events. The list of performances each August only grows and benefits North Carolina with ever-more incredible theater and performance art. Western North Carolina is truly blessed that NBTF makes its performance home within our borders and remains committed to supporting local businesses.

Our North Carolina lighting rentals change the face of an event or party. While lighting is critical at night for any type of gathering, it is not to be underestimated at any time of day. Many North Carolina lighting rentals clients use strings of cafe bulb lighting or indoor colored-gel uplighting to define the perimeters of an event space or to add a festive atmosphere indoors.

At this beach-side wedding, the couple's vows were said toward the dusk time of day.  For that event we were happy to provide audiovisual rentals for their guests to best hear and witness their vows. When the reception moved to the house, it was still day light. But, the lighting design helped to create a party atmosphere while the sun was still up and turn it into a twinkling fete by nightfall.

We are also pleased when our business takes us back to Blowing Rock NC to provide av in western NC. Western North Carolina, which is not far from our home office and where our company was founded in Winston-Salem, NC is one of our favorite yearly stops in our conference rotation. AV Connections, Inc. has enjoyed the same return clients for conference AV year after year. We get back to Blowing Rock twice a year at least and it's with great pleasure that we get to work with the team at Meadowbrook Inn and Conference Center.

This month we returned to provide av in western NC for a regional nursing conference held jointly by Wake Forest University Health and it's affiliated partners. This year, the conference was so well attended we also set up AV in overflow rooms in order to make room for all of the conference attendees. These small rooms and audiovisual delivered to them is both necessary and appreciated; it makes a comfortable place to absorb information. It is far preferable to asking too many people to try to take notes elbow to elbow in a packed conference room. If you want to be as well attended next year, this courtesy is an important one. Especially when conference guests have to spend an entire day listening, this helps with concentration and patience.

All together another great year with NWAHEC's conference. We look forward to creating another effective conference for them next year.

This past week we were out in the incredible Blue Ridge Mountains providing audiovisual in Blowing Rock NC for a national conference. We are always pleased to work with the talented teams at Meadowbrook Inn and Conference Center in Blowing Rock. The venue is not just a conference hub but also a great place to spend a weekend when you visit western North Carolina.

This particular conference was a medical conference on respiratory care hosted by Northwest Area Health Education Center. NAHEC is affiliated with both University of North Carolina and Wake Forest University.

We were also so proud Trent Perry, our senior manager in North Carolina was able to lend support to the conference planner again this year. She wrote to us, "As always Trent did a wonderful job! His ability to take care of all AV needs makes my job at the conference a little easier." This level of go-the-extra-step customer service is what we ware always striving for at AV Connections, Inc. We look forward to seeing these clients next year!

A chill in the air brought a great event lighting rental NC happening for AV Connections, Inc. We were honored to be the event lighting rentals NC vendor and sponsor for the Eastern North Carolina Make-A-Wish Foundation's Tanglewood Walk  for Wishes. AV Connections; North Carolina branch provided presentation audio, LED stage lighting rentals, and a custom Gobo graphic overhead in the amphitheater.

To date the Walk for Wishes has raised $153,000 for eastern North Carolina's children. The event had huge attendance which will help to keep Make-A-Wish generating good days for children for the next year. We were lucky to have a beautiful cool night for this outdoor event.  This was the fifth year for the Walk-for-Wishes at Tanglewood Park in our hometown, Winston-Salem, NC. The 5K walk takes participants through the legendary Tanglewood Festival of Lights - a great way to get some exercise, raise money for a great cause, and do it all under the seasonal light displays in the park.

Everyone in attendance is looking forward to Walk For Wishes 2015 and we are looking forward to helping Make-A-Wish raise more money for their comforting work. we will see you at Tanglewood in 2015 for this important charity event.

AV Connections, Inc.  NC presentation services were hard at work this week for the Wake Technical Community College mid-year graduation commencement ceremonies. AV Connections, Inc. provided all the AV NC presentation technology for this event held at the Benton Conference Center in Winston-Salem, NC. We are pleased to be the AV company to handle AV for multiple graduations each year of Wake Tech. 

Wake Tech is the largest of NC's 50 community college systems. It was recently identified as the second fastest growing community college in the United States. Online registration has doubled in the past five years and is expected to double again the coming five years. It is truly a remarkable school system and we are pleased to serve it with NC AV presentation services for all the school's joint graduation each year.

Wake Tech offers programs in a vast array of technical areas including our own, as well as graduates, in a different ceremony each semester, high school equivalencies as well. Wake Tech is North Carolina's largest community college and supports 70,000 students. Across five campuses, Wake Tech offers 180 degree and diploma programs. All of the December degree programs graduated at this event. Such exciting beginnings for these graduates who saw through their degrees to completion. Wake Tech's is important work which are pleased to help them wrap up with graduation ceremonies each semester.
