We are also pleased when our business takes us back to Blowing Rock NC to provide av in western NC. Western North Carolina, which is not far from our home office and where our company was founded in Winston-Salem, NC is one of our favorite yearly stops in our conference rotation. AV Connections, Inc. has enjoyed the same return clients for conference AV year after year. We get back to Blowing Rock twice a year at least and it's with great pleasure that we get to work with the team at Meadowbrook Inn and Conference Center.

This month we returned to provide av in western NC for a regional nursing conference held jointly by Wake Forest University Health and it's affiliated partners. This year, the conference was so well attended we also set up AV in overflow rooms in order to make room for all of the conference attendees. These small rooms and audiovisual delivered to them is both necessary and appreciated; it makes a comfortable place to absorb information. It is far preferable to asking too many people to try to take notes elbow to elbow in a packed conference room. If you want to be as well attended next year, this courtesy is an important one. Especially when conference guests have to spend an entire day listening, this helps with concentration and patience.

All together another great year with NWAHEC's conference. We look forward to creating another effective conference for them next year.

This past week we were out in the incredible Blue Ridge Mountains providing audiovisual in Blowing Rock NC for a national conference. We are always pleased to work with the talented teams at Meadowbrook Inn and Conference Center in Blowing Rock. The venue is not just a conference hub but also a great place to spend a weekend when you visit western North Carolina.

This particular conference was a medical conference on respiratory care hosted by Northwest Area Health Education Center. NAHEC is affiliated with both University of North Carolina and Wake Forest University.

We were also so proud Trent Perry, our senior manager in North Carolina was able to lend support to the conference planner again this year. She wrote to us, "As always Trent did a wonderful job! His ability to take care of all AV needs makes my job at the conference a little easier." This level of go-the-extra-step customer service is what we ware always striving for at AV Connections, Inc. We look forward to seeing these clients next year!

AV Connections, Inc was pleased to support our Charleston branch this past month to assist with gala lighting rentals for the 2015 Chase After a Cure Gala at the Memminger Auditorium in downtown Charleston, SC.  In January of each year for the past seven years, the Chase After a Cure Foundation creates a gala event for 400 people. For the past two years the event has been held at the Memminger. The theme for 2015 was AN Evening in Paris.

Our Charleston office took the Evening in Paris theme and ran with it. We could not be more proud of the resulting event. The gala event lighting was, as you can see, just incredible and superb. It truly created a wonderful party away from everyday concerns. For a moment in time, all of the guests were transported to a luxe evening in the City of Lights.

It was, thankfully, another wonderfully productive fundraising event and even surpassed last year in finds pledged to the charity. As a corporations, we have a personal interest in assisting with pediatric neuroblastoma research and we are always glad to be a sponsor of this event. In addition, it allows all of our creative lighting design talents to shine. once a year, the sky is the only limit in what we can create. We dare to dream big. When left to their own imagination, our team always turns out lighting design unseen elsewhere in gala and banquet events.

Job Description:

Audio Visual Technician – Part-time/Full-time/Contract
Location: Winston-Salem, NC Corporate Offices of AV Connections, Inc.
Basic delivery, set-up, operation and tear-down of large and small scale audiovisual systems for live events while ensuring the best in client satisfaction. Responsible for accurate set-up and proper operation of basic electronic equipment. Provide excellent service and strive to exceed expectations and needs of customers. Maintain a positive relationship with all clients through excellent communication. Understand the technical aspects of the job and demonstrate basic operational skills to troubleshoot and problem solve. Understand company processes, follow procedures and complete systems entry and paperwork accurately. Interact with other staff and outside vendors for equipment. Increase revenue by utilizing up-selling techniques. Work with clients to finalize invoices.

Required Skills:
• High School diploma required
• Live event experience and previous customer service experience helpful
• Technical aptitude and basic understanding of how to use audiovisual equipment
• Excellent customer service skills
• Must be responsible, self-motivated, self-starter, personable and well-organized
• Must be able to accommodate a rotating work schedule to include nights and weekends
• Portrays a polished professional image to meet company dress code requirements
• Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds on a regular basis
• Clean driving record
• Video-editing skills a plus
